If you would like more information on the services provided, to get a sense of my style and approach, or if you would like to see if we are a good fit together. Please first book online a free 20-minute consultation with me.
To schedule an appointment you may contact us directly by telephone, email or book online.
Unless it is specified by your workplace insurance, you do not require a referral. To schedule an appointment you may contact us directly by telephone, email or book online.
Our initial free consultation will be 20-minutes long where I will answer any questions you may have. You will briefly share your concerns you would like to address and goals for therapy. I will inform you of my style and approach and discuss next steps from there.
If you would like to proceed with me, we will book our first session and subsequent future sessions. Our first session will entail a better understanding of your current concerns and your past experiences and histories, as well as getting a sense of your childhood upbringing. From there, future sessions will help to understand and identify unhelpful patterns that get you stuck and ways to better manage them while creating change.
Materials, handouts and exercises to relevant topics discussed in sessions will be provided at the end of sessions to help facilitate further change in between sessions. These are not mandatory but are a great supplement to deepen your understandings and bring change.
I completed my Masters in Social Work (MSW) at UofT. To learn more about my credentials, please visit my About Me page.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). As a RSW, we are permitted to provide psychotherapy services and can also use the title “psychotherapist.” Please refer to the OCSWSSW website for more details on the controlled act of psychotherapy provided by RSW.
Please note: when submitting your claim with insurance, please make sure to select Social Work and not “Registered Psychotherapist,” as that is a different registered profession that can also provide therapy services.
Unfortunately, private counselling and psychotherapy is not covered under OHIP.
However, there may be some coverage available through your insurance benefits. Please check with your insurance provider, as many plans do cover therapy and counseling with a registered social worker (RSW).
Payment information will be requested through the Jane App while you complete the Intake and Consent form before our first session begins.
Payment is processed at the end of every session and you will be directly billed. You can edit your payment information by logging into your secure account on Jane. Once payment has been processed, you will receive a receipt in your inbox for your records which you can use to claim with your insurance.
All therapy sessions are done online through the secure telehealth platform Jane. Online therapy appointments utilize the same evidence-based treatment methods as in-person therapy. The only difference is this will be at the comfort of your own home.
Your telehealth platform Jane account allows you to book, cancel and reschedule appointments. Your account will also allow you to update personal and credit card information. Video appointments will also be conducted via Jane platform. Jane platform is encrypted and complies by the Canadian privacy laws.
Fee is $160 per session and no tax will be collected (social workers are exempt from collecting tax when providing the act of psychotherapy).
For sliding scale, please contact us and book a free consultation to discuss reduced fees (this is at the therapist’s discretion).
We know that things come up and emergencies happen. We will do our best to accommodate that. Except for an emergency, we ask that clients provide 48 hours notice to cancel or to change an appointment time. This gives us the opportunity to offer someone else that appointment time.
If it is a missed appointment (no show) without notice or late cancellation (less than 48 hours notice), you will be charged the full (100%) session fee. Methods for cancelling appointments are via telephone or email. You can also cancel and reschedule appointments via your telehealth platform Jane account.
Yes, therapy is confidential. However, there are limits to confidentiality. This will be discussed at the time of our first session. It is also outlined on the Intake & Consent Form, which you will read and sign before you begin therapy.
Maintaining clients’ privacy and personal health information is very important. By engaging in virtual psychotherapy services, please note that there are certain level of inherent risks that comes with using tele-psychotherapy services.
In order to mitigate as much risk as possible, the therapist uses Jane platform, secure and encrypted electronic platform, to store all clients’ files and personal health information, schedule appointments, billing, payment processes, hold video appointments and consultations. You can reach out to me via email, telephone or at our scheduled appointment. No text messages, please.
Please note: email communications are NOT secure. Email is for scheduling and cancellation purposes only. Client concerns and personal health information will only be discussed during sessions, via telephone or using Jane’s secure video platform.
Your therapist’s number is not set-up to receive text messages and messages will not be answered.
